Frequently asked questions

Can my child try a class before committing?

Absolutely! We offer a taster session for all of our term-time clubs and classes, giving your child the opportunity to experience Curtain Call Academy before enrolling. A taster session costs the equivalent of one class.

What should my child wear?

We don't have a compulsory uniform, but we do ask that children wear comfortable, safe clothing suitable for dancing and movement, such as:

  • Trainers
  • Leggings or jogging bottoms
  • A comfortable T-shirt
  • Hair tied back
  • No jewellery

We also have Curtain Call Academy T-shirts available to purchase for £15 if your child would like one.

For our end-of-term performances, children are asked to wear plain black clothing. Those who own a Curtain Call Academy T-shirt will also be asked to wear this for the performance.

Can parents stay and watch the class?

To help children settle, build independence and make new friends, parents do not stay during classes, including taster sessions.

We find that children are often more confident joining in and engaging with activities once parents have left.

Don't worry—you won't miss out! At the end of each term, we hold a performance where family and friends are invited to watch and celebrate everything the children have been learning.

Can my child join an after-school club if they don't attend that school?

Unfortunately not. Our after-school clubs are exclusively for children who attend the school where the club is held. This is due to each school's collection, safeguarding and site access procedures.

If your child attends a different school, we'd love to welcome them to our weekly Stage School or one of our holiday workshops instead!
